! Elysium Shaders
Elysium is a stylized shaderpack for the Iris shader loader.
Most packs chase photorealism and end up looking alike. Elysium takes the opposite path: a hand-tuned palette and its own lighting model for each of the three dimensions, and nothing on disk that doesn't need to be there.
! Highlights
- A Nether you can stare at — the crimson lives in the fog, lava and fire, while the lighting itself stays warm and neutral. Built to stay comfortable during long sessions.
- A living overworld — golden sunsets, lavender nights, snow-gated auroras, drifting procedural clouds.
! Features
Sky & atmosphere
- Animated procedural clouds with adjustable coverage
- Aurora borealis with configurable strength and an optional snow-only mode
Lighting & shadows
- 2048² shadow map with adjustable penumbra softness
- Screen-space ambient occlusion
- Light shafts through foliage
- Held light: your torch lights the way
- Emissive glow for lava, fire, glowstone, portals and mob eyes
- Night brightness control, exposure, warmth and optional purple-tinted shadows
Water & weather
- Rain strengthens both the wind and the fog naturally
- Dedicated underwater and lava fog profiles
Post-processing
- Bloom with configurable strength
- Distance fog and Nether fog density controls
- Subtle vignette and film grain
- Vanilla brightness slider and the Night Vision potion work natively
! Localization
The in-game settings menu is translated into 13 languages and follows the game's language automatically: English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Polish, Italian, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese and Korean.
! Requirements & compatibility
- Minecraft 26.3 or newer with Iris fabric; works alongside Sodium
- No OptiFine support
- On GPUs with 8 GB of VRAM, a render distance of 12–14 chunks is recommended while streaming large amounts of new terrain — this is a limitation of Sodium's memory arenas, not of the shader
