Feuer & Flöhe
A magic-and-automation modpack for NeoForge 1.21.1 — with a bit of building and exploration on the side.
Feuer & Flöhe ("Fire & Fleas") is my personal-taste kitchen-sink pack built around three pillars: magic, automation, and enough building/exploration to make the world worth walking through. It's not a tech-progression pack and it's not trying to be — there's no guns-and-turrets arms race here, just crystals, conduits, and exploration.
⚠️ Highly alpha. Things will break, balance is unfinished, and the modlist is still shifting. Expect crashes, expect changes, report bugs if you find them.
What's inside
🪄 Magic
Ars Nouveau anchors the magic system, backed up by Mystical Agriculture & Agradditions for essence farming, DimDoors for a proper magical dimension to get lost in, and Patchouli/GuideMe/Markdown Manual for in-game documentation so none of it feels like guesswork.
⚙️ Automation
A full triple-tech stack that's meant to interoperate rather than compete:
- Applied Energistics 2, heavily extended (Extended AE, Applied Mekanistics, Applied Cooking, Applied Delight, Applied Extended Crafting, Applied Replicatics, AE2 QoL mods) — the logistics backbone.
- Mekanism + Generators, Tools, Additions, and Curios integration for processing and power.
- Create, tied into the AE2/Mekanism world via Custom Machinery compat addons, plus Create x Storage Drawers and Create x Biomes O'Plenty content.
- Ender IO, ProjectRed, PneumaticCraft: Repressurized, and Extended Crafting rounding out the automation options for anyone who wants a different flavor of "make the machine do it."
It's deliberately not hyper-technical — the goal is automation that supports building and magic, not a pack about automation for its own sake.
🏡 Building & Exploration
Biomes O'Plenty (with matching MCW building blocks, block variants, and biome-specific decoration) gives the world more to look at, while Storage Drawers, Waystones, and Carry On keep base logistics simple. For exploration, Yung's suite (Mineshafts, Dungeons, Bridges, Ocean Monuments, Extras) and Dungeons and Taverns add structures worth finding, with Crawl and Guard Villagers adding a bit of danger and life along the way.
🗺️ Navigation
Antique Atlas is the only mapping mod in the pack — no minimap, no waypoint overlays, just a simple hand-drawn atlas that fills in as you explore.
🧰 Quality of Life
Jade + Jade Addons, JEI (+ JEI World Gen, JEI Integration Reborn), Sodium + Lithium + FerriteCore for performance, AppleSkin, Inventory Tweaks, Mouse Tweaks, and Carry On for general comfort.
What you won't find
No guns, no firearms mods, no ballistics — this pack sticks to magic staffs, pneumatic tubes, and conveyor belts for anything that needs to move fast.
Specifically not containing guns — you don't fire on fleas. 🪳🔥
