You are never alone in the dark.
Inside the Darkness is a survival horror modpack built around paranoia, exploration and an unsettling atmosphere. Build a shelter, gather supplies and stay alert: strange sightings can turn into dangerous encounters, and the quietest moments may be the ones you fear most.
- Unpredictable encounters: Herobrine, Slenderman, Cave Dweller and other entities with different ways of stalking and threatening you.
- An immersive world: ambient sounds, echoing caves, detailed footsteps, seasons and wind-driven rain and snow.
- Survival and exploration: refreshed vanilla biomes, varied terrain and selected underground structures, with tools for cooking and protecting your shelter.
- Optional shaders: choose a darker horror atmosphere or a more natural visual style.
- A customized presentation: a themed main menu, loading screen and a simple pause menu.
- Solo or multiplayer: survive alone or face the darkness together with proximity voice chat.
- Performance improvements: rendering and memory optimizations, with moderate weather particles to limit their added workload.
⚠️ Optional visuals — Patrix 32x ⚠️
Patrix 32x offers more realistic textures and is optional. Do not use it with Insanity Shader in this modpack; use BSL, Complementary Reimagined or Solas instead, with the appropriate PBR settings. Despite its 32x resolution, it is demanding and can significantly reduce FPS when combined with shaders. A capable graphics card with sufficient VRAM is recommended; leave Patrix disabled if performance drops.
