Theosis — RPG Progression (Apotheosis for Servers)
Theosis is the ultimate plugin reinterpretation of the Apotheosis mod. It brings a deep RPG progression experience to your server without any mods, while fully preserving the vanilla essence.
The gameplay loop is highly addictive: better loot ➔ stronger builds ➔ harder bosses ➔ greater rewards. Everything is fully optimized for servers and 100% configurable.
NOTE:The plugin works with Spigot, Paper, Folia and Purpur.
However, Paper or Purpur are recommended, as some perks may not function correctly in Spigot (due to technical limitations).
75 custom gem textures, including every tier, designed to match Minecraft’s vanilla style.
⚙️ Plugin Modules
The plugin is divided into independent modules that you can easily toggle on or off in the configuration:
⚔️ perks: true (Item Skills)
All tools and armor pieces can receive unique advantages (perks) that grant special abilities. There are over 200 unique skills distributed across all equipment types in the game!
!
💎 gems: true (Gem System)
Players can find sockets and gems within the loot from towers. Gems feature 3 purity levels:
Level I ➔ Level II ➔ Level III
Upgrading: You can upgrade a gem's tier by combining two gems of the same level inside an anvil (e.g., combining two Level I gems creates a Level II gem).
Socketing: These gems can be fused into any weapon or armor piece with open slots (sockets) using an anvil. This process costs experience and inflicts wear on the anvil.

This module introduces a player-tier system to manage difficulty scaling across the server:
Tier 1: The starting level. Bosses are at their weakest.
Tier 2: Automatically unlocked when a player equips at least 3 armor pieces with a rarity of COMMON, UNCOMMON, or RARE.
Tier 3: Unlocked upon traveling to the Nether.
Tier 4: Unlocked after defeating the Wither or the Ender Dragon.
Tier 5: The ultimate tier. Achieved by equipping an item with MYTHIC rarity.
👹 variants: true (Mob Variants)
Allows vanilla mobs to spawn as elite variants equipped with unique combat mechanics. There are 9 available variants:
Brute Creeper: Doesn't know how to detonate, so it charges forward to attack you with melee strikes.
Enderman Warp: Teleports you randomly upon hitting you.
Zombie Venom: Inflicts a poison effect whenever it lands a hit.
Phantom Grabber: Snatches you up, flies high into the air, and drops you from above.
Spider Web Trapper: Traps you in a cobweb for 1 to 2 seconds during combat.
Spider Brood: Spawns a cluster of baby spiders upon death.
Arcane Archer: A smarter, deadlier skeleton equipped with a magical bow.
Mummified Leader: Spawns exclusively in desert biomes. Striking it causes it to summon reinforcing minions.
Wither Knight: Launches you vertically into the air on hit and deals significantly higher Wither damage than normal.
📚 enchant_library: true (Arcane Library)
A specialized utility structure that allows you to store, centralize, and boost your enchantments far beyond vanilla limitations.
Crafting: Crafted using Eyes of Ender, a Nether Star, and a Barrel.
Activation: The barrel must be completely surrounded by bookshelves (either standard or chiseled) to activate.
Mechanics: Deposit your duplicate enchanted books to accumulate "Power Points" for that specific enchantment. For instance, storing multiple Sharpness IV books will let you extract a single book with a superior tier, such as Sharpness VII.

Arcane Decomposition Table
Turn your gems into valuable arcane dust.
Different gem tiers now produce dust of varying quality:
• Tier I Gems → Raw Dust
• Tier II Gems → Refined Dust
• Tier III Gems → Pure Dust
Crafted using:
Respawn Anchor
Barrel
(Place the Respawn Anchor above the Barrel)
The table can process up to 16 gems at once, taking longer depending on the gem quality and amount inserted.
Dust finally gives stored gems a meaningful endgame purpose.
📚 Arcane Tomes
You can now create Arcane Tomes from Arcane Dust.
Recipe:
D.D.D
D.B.D
D.D.D
D = Arcane Dust
B = Book
Three qualities are available:
Raw Arcane Tome
• Extracts approximately 50% of enchantments.
• The item is consumed.
Refined Arcane Tome
• Extracts 100% of enchantments.
• The item is consumed.
Perfect Arcane Tome
• Extracts 100% of enchantments.
• Retains the original item.
• Ignores cursed enchantments.
Players can finally recover valuable enchantments from their best gear.
🔨 New Feature - Arcane Chisel
Customize your gear like never before.

Pattern:
The Arcane Chisel uses Resonance Points.
Resonance is obtained by sacrificing weapons, armor, and tools of a certain rarity.
Higher rarity items grant more Resonance.
In the interface, players can:
• Change Perks.
• Remove Perks (Shift + Click).
• Engrave desired Perks.
• Create fully customized gear.
Each item is unique, as perk slots depend on rarity.
✨ Item Awakening
Place compatible vanilla equipment inside the Arcane Chisel to awaken it.
Awakened items receive:
A random rarity.
Compatible random perks.
Random sockets.
You can awaken equipment using only XP, or use Arcane Dust as a catalyst to reduce the level cost and improve the rarity roll.
No Dust: 30 levels
Crude Dust: 20 levels
Refined Dust: 12 levels
Pure Dust: 6 levels
Better dust gives better chances of obtaining higher-rarity gear.
By default, awakened equipment can reach up to Rare rarity.
The Awakening system and its costs can be fully configured in config.yml.
🔧 Anvil Support System
A configurable cost system has been added for the anvil.
Several predefined configurations are available, allowing server administrators to decide the cost of using the anvil.
Everything can be configured directly in config.yml.
New configuration
anvil:
mode: VANILLA
# VANILLA | ARCANE
VANILLA Mode
The default behavior.
Uses the vanilla anvil.
Fully supports all existing Theosis mechanics.
Benefits from the new Anvil Friendly compatibility improvements.
ARCANE Mode
Prefer maximum compatibility?
Switch to ARCANE mode.
In this mode:
Theosis completely stops using the vanilla anvil.
Vanilla anvil behavior remains untouched.
All Theosis mechanics move to the new Arcane Anvil.
Perfect for RPG servers using multiple custom item or enchantment plugins.
The Arcane Anvil can be crafted using:
🛠️ Anvil + Ender Pearl
🕯️ Arcane Lantern
Following community feedback, Theosis now includes the Arcane Lantern.
The Arcane Lantern can be placed around your base to create a protected territory.
Inside its protected chunks:
Variants cannot enter.
Bosses cannot enter.
Boss minions cannot enter.
Hostile Theosis encounters will stay outside the protected area.
This gives players a simple way to protect important locations without completely disabling bosses or variants across the entire world.
Recipe
The recipe is intentionally simple:
Any Lantern
One piece of Rotten Flesh
Combine them to create the new Arcane Lantern.
Protect your base, prepare your equipment, and explore without being constantly harassed by powerful creatures!
This configuration can be seen in bosses.yml
I put it here since it's linked to the bosses
🔍 Gameplay Overview
Build Customization
Every tool and armor piece drops with random perks and an unpredictable number of sockets. Combined with base attack/defense stats and item rarity, this guarantees that every piece of loot found in your world feels entirely unique.
There are 25 distinct types of gems, each offering a specific attribute. Players must carefully match the right gem type with the corresponding equipment to successfully activate its effects.
Smart Boss Spawning
Bosses spawn dynamically throughout the world at a safe distance, giving players the choice to engage in the encounter or avoid it entirely. An on-screen boss health bar reflects the boss's tier color, letting players instantly know exactly what level of threat they are facing.

Theosis was born out of love for the Apotheosis mod (created by Shadows_of_Fire). Inspired by its mechanics, I built this plugin completely from scratch for Spigot/Paper/Folia servers so everyone can enjoy a close experience without needing client-side mods.
